FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does DHA Gold use ethyl ester (EE) or triglycerides (TG) fish oil?

DHA Gold uses re-esterified triglyceride (rTG) fish oil. Fish oils are available in 3 different forms, rTG, TG and EE fish oil.

Natural fish oil is found in the triglyceride (TG) form. In order to obtain higher concentrations of DHA and EPA, natural fish oil is often converted to ethyl ester (EE) form during distillation and purification processes. However, fish oil of EE form offers a lower absorption rate.

To enhance bioavailability, EE fish oil can be converted back to TG fish oil through the re-esterification process, producing rTG fish oil. Hence, rTG fish oil combines both superior bioavailability and the highest concentrations of DHA and EPA, compared to other forms of fish oil, such as natural TG and EE forms.

What types of fish are used to produce DHA Gold?

DHA Gold uses fishes that naturally contain higher concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids. The fish oil in DHA Gold is extracted from 100% wild-caught fish comprising primarily of anchovies, sardines and mackerel.

DHA Gold contains 2000mg of fish oil in each serving, where 1000mg is DHA and 210mg is EPA. What are the components that account for the remaining?

As a natural ingredient, there are other components that are naturally present in fish oil. This includes other omega 3 fatty acids such as docosapentaenoic acid (DPA), alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), stearidonic acid (SDA), arachidonic acid (ARA) and heneicosapentaenoic acid (HPA), as well as vitamins that act as antioxidants.

DHA Gold uses only high quality fish oil that undergoes a proprietary gentle molecular distillation process. During this process, impurities and heavy metals are mostly removed, leaving behind the beneficial substances, particularly omega-3 fatty acids.
